The paperwork behind the good deeds
OUR SOURCES.
The directory combines original editorial research with a supplied charity catalogue. Every listed charity has a linked regulator record and a check date in its profile. The imported records were checked against official registers on 15 September 2026, with registered names corrected where needed.
What a check means
We match the charity’s identity and registration information to its official regulator record and check the organisation behind its website. A register check is not an endorsement, quality rating, financial audit or promise that a service is available everywhere. Some charities hold registrations in more than one UK nation; the linked record identifies the register consulted.
Donation and support links lead to official charity websites. Those websites may direct you to their payment providers. Links can change, and some sites restrict automated checks; any specific access caveats appear in the profile. Please check the recipient and purpose on the charity’s own website before donating.
Service areas
Service areas are descriptive. A national charity appearing in county results does not mean it has a local branch there. An organisation’s registered office is not automatically a public service location. We do not publish trustee home addresses or confidential accommodation locations.
Register sources
England and Wales records come from the Charity Commission, Scottish records from the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR), and Northern Ireland records from the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland. Each profile links to the record used.
